Baccus Manufacturing Control

Requirements

Baccus is capable of running on a variety hardware platforms and operating systems (OS's) from a laptop to a mainframe. This multi-platform capability virtually eliminates hardware or OS lock-in and allows you to confidently move onto more powerful hardware when required, removing one of the major IT pains of business growth.

Whilst Baccus could be run on a single PC, it is more usual to install it on a server PC on a network. Users then access it using the web browser on their own PCs. As the real processing is performed by the server, the user PCs do not need to be very powerful. Older PCs can often be given a new lease of life as Baccus clients.

A recommended minimum specification for a server running Linux would be:

  • 1GHz processor
  • 256MB RAM
  • 20GB Hard Drive
  • Network card
  • Backup storage device such as USB Drive, Zip Drive or tape backup

A recommended minimum specification for a server running Microsoft Windows would be:

  • 2GHz processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 20GB Hard Drive
  • Network card
  • Backup storage device such as USB drive, Zip Drive or tape backup

We also strongly recommend the use of an Uninteruptable Power Supply (UPS) for the server.
